Program Overview
Following the June-August timeline, each dancer will be prepared to submit their National Dance Coaches Association Common Dance Team Recruitment Video by September 1st. (Not all teams use this early submission deadline. The materials can be submitted later to many teams.)
- The boot camp includes an initial dance team skills/technique evaluation/feedback, and high school transcript review to inform Dance into College coaches for guidance purposes.
- Each week, dancers will receive: instructional videos and materials, a 20-minute personal meeting, and feedback on weekly homework assignments.
- Homework assignments cover college/team list building, dance technique, team/coach outreach recommendations, creating all materials for the Common Recruitment Video and team applications, plus much more.
- Dancers and parents can participate in a weekly, live Q & A session with Dance into College staff on topics related to college dance teams, recruitment, and auditions.
Dancers must be able to participate most weeks between June 22 and August 10th, and come prepared with a tentative list of colleges/teams. Dancers must have access to a safe dancing space each week to film exercises and recruitment videos.Program instructional videos can be reviewed at any time, and the 20-minute virtual meeting time is flexible. The live Q&A Session will be held on Sunday each week. Dancers are responsible for creating their own recruitment video. The dancer’s videos can be edited by our team for an additional fee. Please complete the form for additional details.
All applications are due by Wednesday, June 3rd. Notifications of whether a dancer was selected or not will be sent out no later than Monday, June 8th, and will include preliminary work to be completed before the June 22nd start date.
